The Client Our client is a leading integrated energy company with activities in exploration, production, transportation, refining, trading and marketing of crude oil and petrochemical products and natural gas. The role The trading of crude and products is centered in the London office, with other trading personnel in Singapore and Houston. The role, under the supervision of the team Manager, will be responsible for contributing to the development and execution of the light products trading strategy. The Function; The job holder is responsible for and takes part in: Trading of physical oil products (naphtha and/or gasoline) and associated derivatives; Managing price risk exposure on the trading book; Building and maintaining strong relationships with trading counterparties; Negotiating term and spot contracts with producers, refiners and traders; Maintaining a deep understanding of the light oil products market and energy markets in general; Devising proprietary trading strategies, both on physical and derivatives; Liaise with Refining and Marketing to optimise the supply of feedstock and the sale of products; Liaise with Petrochemical to optimise the supply of feedstock and the sale of products; Liaise with Shipping for the chartering of shipping, on spot or term basis; Provide analytical assessments to support trading decisions. Coaching junior members of the team The responsibilities; Negotiate and conclude market transactions on a spot/term basis within an agreed strategy to generate value. Ensure that the oil production of the upstream affiliates is sold to the best buyer; Locate and acquire optimal feedstock for refining and petrochemical system; Locate and sell the refining and petrochemical system products to the best buyer; Be able to develop an asset backed trading strategy wherever client runs productions/assets Provide insight and support to the development of the long-term light products trading strategy. Maintain regular communication with products traders in Houston and Singapore to identify and execute arbitrage opportunities; Develop and execute physical and financial light products trading strategies; Build and maintain key relationships with other trading companies, refiners, petrochemicals and producers; Develop and present analysis to management to support future trading positions; Track and communicate the developments in the market and relevant market intelligence, including supply and demand balances and competitor activities to other traders of the team;
Oil Product Operator This well known Oil Company is looking to hire an Oil Products Operator in their London office. The role is within the Trading Operations department and fully integrated into the Products Trading team. Function Manage the oil operations related to the execution of the commodity contract(s) deal life-cycle generated by pertinent Oil Trading Team(s), including but not limited to: (i) set-up of documentary instructions; (ii) dealing with Inspection Companies for related cargo quality/quantity controls; (iii) managing demurrage claims; (iv) certifying subject delivered performances and (if any) the consequent costs; Be the first point of contact for all internal communication and co-operation regarding the pertaining cargoes such as shipping, credit, etc.; Keep the company’s position keeping system timely and accurately up-to-date with all latest data regarding cargoes including b/l dates, actual volumes etc.; Maintain a good relationship with internal clients and counterparties; Deal with an “ad hoc” requests related to operations activities generated by Trading Team. Key Responsibilities Manage day-to-day trading operations activities for the pertaining commodities aiming at assuring the Operational performance efficiency; Manage voyage orders; pro-forma invoice; documentary instructions; vessel nominations; Letter of Credit; Provisional and Final cargo insurance; Narrowing/Nomination of dates/quantities; Vessel clearance, etc.; Manage claims of ancillary costs such as freight differential; deviation cost; dead-freight and monitor progress of their resolutions; Build and maintain good working relationships and daily communication with the operations team of relevant counterparties; Be the focal point for all communication with terminals regarding nominations of loading programs etc.; Manage relationships and communication with terminals and departments to ensure efficiency of operations activities. Experience / Skills Required Strong academic credentials with a numeracy-oriented specialization; Self-disciplined and stress-resistant; Solid knowledge of the subject and relevant experience in trading environment are compulsory; Strong knowledge of cargo documentation, b/l, inspection, LC, voyage orders and customs; Strong knowledge of Trading & Shipping Operations activities including Cargoes, Time Charters, Voyage Charters, Ships, Quality & Quantity controls; Strong team working skills, positive attitude and high self-esteem innovative, pro-active and efficient approach to work; Dedication and result oriented approach to work; Good attention to detail, organised, structured and logical; Awareness of Credit Recovery, Procedures, Compliance Policy; Excellent communication skills and ability to build and nurture effective relationships internally and externally; Experience in working in a global and international organization; Full command of English language (written and spoken). Tanker Charterer - CPP
We are seeking an experienced Clean Tanker Charterer for a well known Oil Trading Company in London, to support their Products Trading business. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced CPP Charterer / Freight Trader with strong networks to join an established and busy trading environment. The Role Accountable for the smooth and timely flow of third party clean petroleum products (CPP) market intelligence to the group Develop the chartering strategy with the global shipping team Attend weekly trading and team meetings to share shipping market movements/market intelligence Constantly communicate with global shipping teams to share the CPP market movements/market intelligence in west of Suez market Maintain a daily shipping report that is posted to other regional offices to ensure everyone is updated on London shipping activity. Coordinate and liaise with other offices to ensure any and all policies that are implemented are incorporated and adhered to by the London Shipping Department. Continually look for and identify attractively priced shipping opportunities Build and maintain direct relationships with internal global colleagues and charterer’s brokers with the target of providing unique commercial opportunities. Work with business development teams providing shipping intelligence in the execution of new business plans. Support and assist other chartering team members during busy periods e.g. covering for spot cargoes.
