We have a new opportunity for a Financial Analyst with a global commodities firm in London. This position is responsible for verifying trade details, monitoring pricing, communicating with counterparts on settlements for the European Natural Gas and Power trading desk. Job responsibilities: Communicate with Schedulers and Traders to ascertain correctness of trade details, timing of physical product movement, and resolution of trade discrepancies. Calculate, prepare and send invoices for provisional and final settlements. Ensure the wiring instructions are entered correctly in each Trading system and the General Ledger. Create and submit the settlement packets for cash payment and forecast. Call counterparts to obtain confirmation of daily cash receipts. Follow up on cash fails. FX Settlements Special projects upon request by management. Education, Training & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in business preferred. Strong analytical and communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Excel Sound decision making skills and the ability to work with little supervision.
Commodity Corporate Sales (German)
We are looking for an experienced European Corporates Salesperson to join an investment firm focussed on cross commodity trading across physical and financial emissions, oil, power, gas, petchem and weather derivatives. The business has significant carbon experience commercialising credits, fund management, trading, development and origination. The commodities team work with corporate clients and public sector to originate and structure derivative solutions in flow trading and structured solutions. Duties: Responsible for generating revenue across the “corporates” products suite. To pro-actively drive derivative product distribution across borders into these corporate clients. To manage deal flow from existing customers and collaborate with trading desks. To explore new products and consultative solutions with oil specialisations. Grow an existing client base, originate new customers, meet with clients on a regular basis to maintain strong relationships and project managing each transaction. Key qualities: Mid to Senior level cross-commodity salesperson with experience of working with European corporate clients. A good understanding of commodities, ideally some of oil, carbon, power/gas, plastics, paper / pulp or agricultural products. A thorough knowledge of OTC products and derivatives. A highly entrepreneurial attitude, takes initiatives to develop new products / clients, full of energy, and takes a solution-based approach with clients to customise derivatives / hedges for clients. An existing client base would be beneficial. Good language skills (German, French, Spanish/Italian or Eastern Europeean languages). A good understanding of client documentation, credit /counterparty risk and client on-boarding Good Excel and PowerPoint knowledge.
Gas Forward Trader
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Gas Forward Trader to join a Central European Energy Supply and Trading business. This asset owning business is looking to add a Senior Gas Forward Trader with a proven track record of significant P&L delivery to its established team in Germany. The role • Provide market access for internal customers for Gas and Oil products. • Provide market analysis and market feedback to all relevant business streams. • Provide linear pricing and EOD price curves. • Proprietary trading across all Gas markets. • Manage new and existing linear positions for Gas Options & Forward Trading and support position management for Gas Trading & Optimization. • Maintain positions range within limits established together with Market Risk. • Actively support of portfolio hedging decisions within Gas Trading & Optimization. • Develop new trading areas and seek new trading opportunities. • Manage brokers and exchanges relationships. Who we are seeking • Extensive (minimum 7 years) experience in gas trading and cross commodity exposure. • Experience in risk management and managing own positions within limits. • Proven track record of significant P&L delivery from own positions over the years. • Knowledge of Derivative Pricing, Asset Management, Optimization Methods & Stochastic Processes. • Proficient knowledge of Excel and Risk Management/Deal booking systems. • Good communication and language (English) skills. • Proactive and independent way of working with a focus on discipline and respect of limits. • Good team player.
