We are looking for a creative and detail-orientated carbon analyst with a collaborative approach to join a top tier energy producer and trading business in London. You will support the expansion of the Environmental Markets side of the business, including the development and management of Environmental market analysis activities . The role will report directly into the Head of Fundamentals and Analytics. You will primarily be working with the Environmental Markets team as it develops as a separate business unit, and as part of the wider Fundamentals & Analytics group supporting all trading & business development activities. The successful candidate will have an important part to play in producing high quality analytics, targeted directly at producing commercial recommendations which add value to the trading bottom line. Responsibilities Build and develop fundamental analysis to support the full value chain of Environmental products, supporting upstream and downstream origination targets as well as expansion of existing trading on the EU ETS, potential expansion into new markets (e.g. Korea/California) and voluntary carbon offsets globally. Junior Gas Operator
We are looking for a Junior Operator on behalf of a top tier trading company as they look to broaden their activity into the Upstream E&P sector. With the scope to progress within operations or develop their skills in the optimisation/trading side of the business, the role offers an excellent opportunity to kick-start a career in the industry. You will: Nominate and schedule daily gas positions across various European networks, grids and pipelines including UK, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium and France in a timely and efficient manner. Manage upstream flows and processing - including nominating to Gassco, securing and optimising transportation and processing rights. Book/re-book capacity on Gemini, Prisma, Gassco Booking System to ensure portfolio capacity requirements are met. (includes some involvement in long term bookings). Conclude and nominate beach swaps. Update and monitor positions and liaise with trading on flow data and optimisation. Maintain a balanced portfolio using exchanges. Resolve mismatches to ensure all nominations are matched on an hourly and daily basis. Update CVA website with beach delivery data. Review with counterparts and resolve any issues. Support trades – trade capture and reconciliation in ETRM. Confirmations – assist with confirmation of trades and reconciliation. Report on REMITs. Assist in setting up new business – counterparties, hubs, products, short haul, supply to sites and changing market operations. Support and advise Trade control and settlement teams to provide end to end operations for trading. Follow internal risk, compliance and regulatory policies and update systems and processes as required. You must have: A minimum 18 mths - 2 yrs experience within a physical gas or power-trading environment. Good knowledge of daily scheduling controls/processes/procedures and end-to-end trade lifecycle. Clear understanding of European gas transmission systems and balancing rules. Strong attention to detail. Good numerical skills. Experience of working in a team and under pressure.
