We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Sales and Marketing Manager to commercially lead and drive business for this leading European developer and manufacturer of lubrication products based in the Midlands. Reporting directly to the General Manager for the UK & Europe you will have a proven track record of developing and implementing sales and marketing strategy. As part of a global business your responsibilities will be to define and manage the sales and marketing strategy for the UK, in addition to managing and developing the UK sales function. Previous team management experience and industry knowledge are essential. Typically you will liaise on a daily basis with UK management and operational teams, international group sales and commercial teams, customers, and suppliers. Knowledge/ experience from the lubricants, wax, pharmaceutical or cosmetic raw materials industry is essential. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop, implement and implement continuous improvement strategies across the sales and marketing business function Manage the implementation of the strategy ensuring budgetary commitments are met Implement pricing strategies in line ensuring opportunities to maximise profitability Prospect new business opportunities, identifying major new business opportunities Demonstrate and grow strong relationships with key decision makers Tactical marketing awareness as part of competitor analysis Cross stakeholder communication strategy to ensure efficient customer satisfaction Review technical specifications supporting the development of new products to market Demonstrate collaborative working partnership with head office and affiliates KEY SKILLS/ATTRIBUTES: Business related degree highly desirable An understanding of white oil, lubricants or wax products and their applications Distributor and/or manufacturing experience Extensive experience of B2B sales and account management Proven experience of leading and developing a sales and marketing team Previous experience as part of a leadership/senior management team Tactical marketing awareness as part of competitor analysis Able to build and develop good internal cross-functional and cross cultural relationships Strategic mind set across key business functions Budgetary and commercial acumen Able to operate effectively within a group matrix structure Demonstrates company's core values of Integrity, Collaboration and Excellence REMUNERATION Excellent basic salary, good bonus potential, pension, healthcare, car allowance, laptop, phone, good career progression, and company longevity. This reputable and specialist niche company has a rare opportunity to make a key appointment as Senior Plant Manager to lead on operational aspects at their base in Staffordshire. This independent niche refinery processes a high volume of automotive lubricants circa 40,000 tonnes per annum. Lubricants will be processed on site to produce a range of products including gasoline diesel, base oil and a bitumen substitute. RESPONSIBILITIES Reporting directly to the Managing Director you will be responsible for all day-to-day plant activities encompassing: HSE Production Quality Control of Feedstock, Refinery Production (and Maintenance) Liaising with the Commercial Department for Product Sales and Distribution The role will also encompass Project Management as the refinery looks to double capacity over the next 2 years, a proven background of demonstrating and leading on investments and expansion of a facility would be advantageous. Applicants should hold a Degree in Chemical Engineering and have at least 10 years experience in industry with specific knowledge of distillation. Experience specifically within the oil sector would be preferred. The role requires an individual with good communication skills at all levels, someone who displays confidence at working with a range of stakeholders. The successful applicant will be expected to live within 20 miles of the refinery, a relocation package can be considered. KEY SKILLS/ATTRIBUTES Degree in chemical engineering Previous hands on refinery experience is essential, ideally 10+ years Distillation experience is essential Proven experience of chemicals management from a refinery/chemical manufacturing environment Experience of identifying and managing process improvements. Project management experience Previous mentoring/supervisory experience or ideally management of a small team Able to multi task with a flexible approach to work. You will enjoy both the engineering and theoretical/chemical aspects of the role Capable of performing manual tasks if required A confident communicator and team player with a good sense of humour!
