Job Title: Ancillary Services Manger

Our client, a global low carbon and renewable energy supplier, is looking for an Ancillary Serives Manager to optimise the value of ancillary service contracts as part of Ancillary Services Team; to lead individual negotiations and analysis of existing and new reserve and constraints contracts for a variety of power assets.
Expected to deliver value of +£40m/year together with Head of Ancillary services
Direct line management for 1-2 people (contract management / negotiation support)
Execute the negotiation strategy and working closely with the Commercial Director and Head of Ancillary service set targets for Ancillary Service income (year on year)
Responsibility for contract management of existing ancillary services contracts
Manage external stakeholders and individually negotiate contracts
Manage reporting and forecasting of Reactive Power, Frequency Response and STOR revenue
Lead analysis to price non-mandatory services and respond to tenders
Lead the bidding strategy analysis for capacity market contracts / frequency response and other ancillary service products auction processes
Working in conjunction with the Head of Ancillary services and utilising support from and analysis from across the business determine the pricing strategy for marketed Ancillary Services to maximise profits
Work closely with the analysis, trading and generation teams to ensure information and data used on which to base decisions is accurate and relevant
Present Ancillary Services pricing strategy on a regular basis to the Management Board
Knowledge, Skills and Experience required:
Degree educated ideally in an analytical subject.
Significant experience operating in a theoretical, complex role.
Good knowledge of the power grid system configuration and how other plants contribute as well as a good understanding of the regulatory environment.
Commercially minded astute negotiator.
Cleared to participate in government meetings relating to classified and sensitive security information.
