Reporting to the Sales Director, the Aviation Sales Manager will be accountable for the management of our clients Customer/airport portfolio across the General Aviation, Military and Regional airport sectors (covering Avgas, JET A1 and associated services) and oversight of the Aviation P&L.
The ideal candidate will have excellent inter-personal and communication skills, the ability to work independently or collaboratively and cross functionally.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Budget construction for the Aviation business (Volume & Margin - by Customer and product).
Strategically and creatively build a Customer sales pipeline for short term and long-term goals.
Provide day to day supervision for the Sales Administrator/Support.
Ensuring the continuing profitability of existing contracts and Spot business.
Lead the preparation for the delivery and submission of completed tender RFPs.
Responsible for the Aviation logistics contract with its approved partner and negotiation with Shipping Companies (where appropriate).
Provides support to the Operations Director for the Avgas storage contract and the day to day operations.
Oversee competitor activity and industry trends to support strategic decision making.
Lead the negotiation of product acquisition costs and supply deals (for Aviation Fuels) with the appropriate Oil marketer or refiner.
Significant Aviation fuels commercial experience at a senior level.
Excellent negotiation skills.
Experience in budgeting/forecasting and business planning.
Effective presentation skills to senior management, able to create persuasive sales presentations.
Ability to work under pressure and time constraints.
Ability to prioritise work load in order of urgency/importance.
Strong working knowledge of the Aviation fuels supply chain and distribution logistics.
A good technical understanding of Aviation fuels and associated product testing.
