Job Title: Business Development Manager
Location: M62 North, (flexible on territory)
Sector: Industrial Lubricants / Marine / Agriculture/Oil & Gas

Our client, a leading producer of high quality, high performance, environmentally conscious lubricants for the global industrial markets are hiring in the UK. This long established privately owned business at the forefront of 'green' technologies is looking to appoint an experienced and proactive Business Development Professional with a strong solution sales background to cover the UK and Ireland markets. Operating from a home office the successful applicant will ideally be based M62 North, North East, North West, Scotland, and will report directly into the MD for the UK operation.

This is an exceptional opportunity for someone who can demonstrate good commercial awareness to have genuine input into the future processes and growth of a highly innovative organisation operating in more than 50 Countries. Typically you will be responsible for sales and account management, and the identification of new business opportunities in the industrial sector, marine, oil & gas, off highway, agriculture, engineering etc If you are a strategic thinker with a clear career progression plan in mind and would like to be operating with state of the art 'green' technologies then your ambitions will be fulfilled.
A background in lubricants would be the natural fit but sales / business development experience from the industrial or engineering sectors in general will also be considered.

Key responsibilities:
Sales / Account Management
Identify and develop opportunities for new business both with existing and new customers and markets using value selling principles and a consultative approach.
Provide advice and recommendations to customers on lubricant and lubrication issues, based on analysis and technical advantages.
Plan, design, co-ordinate and deliver presentations as required.
Maximise cross selling opportunities.
Maintain a good awareness of industry needs, requirements, trends, and competitor activity.
Use of value/solutions selling methodology
Actively promote and maximize brand awareness and environmental benefits
Make recommendations for essential processes and business drivers.
Develop effective sales tools to position and sell all products.
Handle and resolve customer disputes and complaints effectively and efficiently.

Key skills/attributes:
Recognised degree or higher education qualification in engineering or similar technical subject, or QBE.
Demonstrable experience in B2B Technical/Solution Sales, Account Management, New Business Development, or Business Management in the industrial markets.
Strong demonstrable value and consultative selling skills.
Experience in the industrial lubricants, or oil industry, or alternatively a background in engineering , marine, agri, or heavy industry would be a good foundation for success.
Maintain close working relationships with OEM's.
A motivated and driven personality, someone who genuinely thrives on the challenge of winning and developing new business.
A self starter / solutions finder with entrepreneurial flair who is willing to take the initiative.
Assertive, persuasive, consultative style.
Experience of selling high end niche products into the industrial sector and a network of contacts are very highly desirable.
A knowledge/appreciation of lubricant formulation and applications is a distinct advantage
Highly effective time management, administrative and organisational skills.
Hands on flexible approach to work and business travel.
Confident communicator at all levels.
