This world leading manufacturer of speciality lubricants operating in industrial markets worldwide are looking to enhance their Sales Team with the appointment of a Business Development Manager. As they invest further in the UK this key appointment would provide an exciting opportunity to progress your career with a leading global brand.
Typically the successful applicant will have completed a mechanical/industrial/manufacturing engineering degree or a recognised higher education qualification. This needs to be complemented with practical technical experience or business management ideally within the world of lubrication or a related technology. Experience of management specifically UK business development across multi - level accounts will also be critical.
As part of the sales team this role will help create new growth opportunities and assist in steering business retention value.
Based in the West Yorkshire Head Office with some UK travel
Identify and qualify sales opportunities through a multi channel approach across the UK
Implement focused business development retention strategies to capitalise on market potential growth opportunities
Understanding and utilising value selling methodology with a consistent sales process conformance approach
Design and deliver technical presentations as required ensuring these are tailored to clients specific requirements
Implement pricing and commercial focus including competitive analysis and market conditions when advising on proposals and recommendations
Implement best practice and appropriate technical advice to customers
Apply strategic perspective as appropriate through all active operation functions
Provide technically appropriate best practice advice, training and consulting to customers
Market analysis , relevant market observation and evaluation to stay current on industry needs
Attend trade shows and seminars as applicable
KEY SKILLS / ATTRIBUTES
Relevant engineering degree or recognised higher education qualification
Minimum 3-5 year experience in an engineering process/manufacturing environment
Technical knowledge of lubrication for industry
A high level of engineering comprehension and previous technical support and sales experience
Highly organised with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Strong relationship building skills
Enthusiastic and innovative approach to your work, willing to take initiative
Proven and tangible commercial acumen
Ability to understand processes, product formulation etc
Confident communication, presentation, and networking skills
A thirst for learning and career development
Flexible approach to business travel
