Due to expansion a Commercial Sales manager role has been created to focus on South England and South Wales. This is a home based field sales role and you will be focussing on national accounts covering sectors including road distribution, construction and public-sector procurement.
The role will involve client visits, building relationships and targeting both new and lapsed customers. You will also support the growth of spot customer accounts. You will have excellent inter-personal communication skills and the ability to work independently, collaboratively and cross functionally. You will demonstrate a good commercial understanding and possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
A valid driving licence is essential.

Develop and deliver sales plans in accordance with wider Sales strategy, with specific attention to National Account development and commercial sales opportunities in the South of England & South Wales
To manage a portfolio of blue-chip accounts, acting as the principle point of contact for all sales activities. This will require regular external customer meetings to provide focussed account management
Submit tender presentations in response to National Contract opportunities and RFQ's
Communication of new contracts won or renewed to the Supply, Risk Management and
Finance Teams to ensure the company's position is appropriately maintained
Provide an accurate monthly demand forecasts to support planning purposes, ensuring accurate representation of deals and delivery against these targets
To liaise with Customer Service and Finance Teams on a regular basis to ensure customer administrative queries are accurately resolved promptly
To monitor and manage customer credit balances on a continuous basis and adhere to the
company's credit control procedure
To manage and communicate commercial spot pricing in conjunction with the spot sales desk
To ensure accurate and timely entry of sales contracts into the company's operating system
as per the company procedure
Actively participate and contribute on both Company and Sales Development initiatives / projects as required by the Sales Director
Attend internal and external training to further develop industry knowledge, skills and capabilities.
Monitor Industry developments, including new legislation, tender processes, expiry dates of target contracts and market developments (regional & national)
Represent the business at industry events and seminars

A thorough working knowledge of the downstream petroleum industry in the UK
Demonstrable Business to Business sales experience at Management / Director level
Established network of contacts to support immediate enabling of sales opportunities
Ability to appreciate market opportunities as they arise and develop short or mid-term sales plans to realise the same
Understanding of the sales cycle and key processes and the interface with other internal stakeholders
Strong numerical ability and experience of product pricing and constructing calculating supply economics
