Commodity Marketer

​We have a new Commodity Marketer opportunity with a top London-based Energy Trading Business. The successful candidate will work closely with both the trading desk and other members of the Commodity Sales team to conclude bilateral wholesale energy transactions across the midstream European client base, with a special focus on continental gas markets.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Strengthening of existing customer relationships and the development of in depth understanding of customer hedging requirements and trading needs

  • Management of commodity deal flow with the company’s existing customer base in close partnership with the trading desk

  • Identification of and successful on-boarding of new deal flow customers

  • Supporting the growth of deal flow into new markets in line with GM&T’s overall European midstream Sales strategy

  • Working closely with the credit team to maximise gross margin for GM&T whilst maintaining an appropriate credit risk balance


Experience & Skills

  • Strong market knowledge with an understanding of key commercial drivers and market risks in all major gas markets

  • Previous gas sales / gas flow desk experience

  • Proven track record of successful PnL delivery

  • Proven performance working within a complex and fast moving trading environment

  • Excellent commercial instinct, integrity, perseverance and the ability to deal with a range of customers across a wide geographical region, including: UK, Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, France, Italy and Austria

  • Ability to quickly forge and grow lasting and profitable customer relationships

  • Understanding of customer portfolios and the knowledge required to meet the needs of clients

  • Verbal and written fluency in English is essential. Fluency in other European languages is beneficial but not required


  • Educated to degree level, or equivalent experience
