We have an exceptional career opportunity for a chemistry graduate with up to 1-2 years industry experience to join a leading global developer and manufacturer of chemical additive packages. As part of the Customer Technical Support Team in the highly successful Engine Oils business unit you will provide support on product claims to ensure submissions for OEM approvals are achieved. You will also work with cross business teams to help deliver solutions for customers by understanding their needs & applications, developing and recommending appropriate products, providing proof of performance data, and offering insightful advice for technical related questions.

With a Chemistry or Science related degree you will provide expert technical support and project lead capability to both internal and external customers to meet technology and business needs. Though initially an entry level position and typically a supportive role to more experienced technologists, the role will involve regular customer interface and project management responsibility, working with cross business project teams alongside industry experts.

NOTE: We can consider a Chemistry Graduate with no industry experience providing they can demonstrate a mature and professional approach to their working environment and a commitment to delivering the highest levels of technical support to customers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and understanding of the product portfolio chemistry.
Develop an understanding of product claims procedures.
Work towards developing an understanding of industry test requirements, customer test requirements and associated specifications.
Support the Engine Oils OEM approval cycle for a portfolio of customers & regions.
Support the management of projects with Customer Technical Service stage gate process.
In conjunction with the wider business, organise and execute a plan for approval testing to meet the customer's needs and requirements
Prepare written reports and technical literature for use by the customer and Sales teams.
Develop and if required deliver presentations to internal and external customers.
Investigate and resolve routine customer concerns under supervision.
Assist colleagues in the completion of required approval documentation and technical reports.
Help resolve customer complaints in a timely, efficient, and professional manner.
Assure that complete ISO documentation is maintained on all ISO or quality related activities.
Establish an in depth knowledge and understanding of industry test requirements, and associated specifications
Regular interface with Customer Service, R&D, OEM, Sales and Marketing to gain an understanding of current and future market trends, requirements, and applications
Interface with Marketing and Sales to ensure aligned customer account management.
Attend industry events as required

ESSENTIAL SKILLS REQUIRED
Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field
1-2 years industry experience ideally from a global organization in the chemicals industry
Comfortable in a customer facing situations
Motivated personality
Professional manner
