Energy Operations Analyst

We have an excellent opportunity for an Energy Operations Analyst to join a Global Commodities Business in Central London.  

Responsibilities

  • Support all swap derivatives & forwards transactions

  • Reconciliation of the Company’s Daily Cleared Open Derivative Positons with the Exchange and Clearing House

  • Reconciliation of the Company’s Daily Margin Call requirements

  • Perform Portfolio Reconciliation as required by EMIR

  • Independently query, challenge and resolve reconciliation discrepancies with the Clearing House

  • Support with the roll out and delivery of the Physical Affirmations (non-brokered bilaterals) project

  • Reviewing systems and controls and independently driving projects to further better them

  • Maintain a pro-active knowledge of exchange developments and ensure that any potential impact to the margining process is appropriately managed

  • Exchange feeds management

  • Perform / validate market ad hoc operations – system static data amendments

  • Build and maintain effective relationships with all areas of the business, particularly with Front Office, Compliance, Financial Operations, Credit and Risk Managers

  • Other ad hoc duties that may be required from time to time.

Requirements

  • Educated to degree level or similar level of experience

  • Experience of swap derivatives & forwards transactions in an energy and commodities environment

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Exchange Traded Products and their Lifecycle

  • Supported Cleared and OTC business at an exchange, bank or similar Oil market participant

  • Attention to detail and excellent problem solving skills required

  • Previous experience in the back/middle office operations roles, preferable

  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills, preferable
