Our client, a leading developer and manufacturer of technical marking solutions for the global oil and petroleum industries are looking to appoint a Global Sales Manager. Reporting into the Sales & Marketing Director you will play a key role in the development and delivery of the sales and marketing strategy for a designated market in line with the overall business plan. You will also take responsibility for the identification and development of new business opportunities, management and further development of existing key customer and distributor relationships, and will develop and maintain detailed customer and competitor knowledge.

Typically you will have at least 10 years international sales experience (ideally in the chemicals industry), strong relationship building skills, and a flexible approach to business travel.
Setting and achieving sales objectives, budget and targets (volume, turnover, profit) for the designated market in line with the Company Business Plan.
Preparation and submission of tender bids.
Key Account Management.
Maintain and review where applicable customer supply agreements and contracts.
Maintain and further develop customer and distributor relationships.
Ensuring appropriate contracts and market development plans are in place.
Contribute to the company business plan and strategic objectives.
Develop and maintain collaborative communication and relationships with all departments.
Assist in the development of the company's market presence and perception within the industry through customer interaction and networking.
Actively develop and maintain in-depth customer and competitor knowledge for the designated market to help guide the business planning process.
Develop and maintain up to date proficiency in all relevant aspects of technology, product knowledge, business processes, export, sales and marketing processes and practices.
KEY SKILLS / ATTRIBUTES:
Minimum 10 years B2B international field sales experience.
Some technical product experience/ understanding or the ability to quickly develop technical expertise in products and services
Relevant degree qualification (Business, Marketing, Languages, Chemistry, Science or manufacturing)
Good commercial acumen with exceptional communication skills at all levels and the ability to think strategically.
Good cross business interaction skills.
An understanding of one European language in addition to English.
Flexible approach to work and business travel
Proven key account management success
Demonstrable business development skills
Good administrations skills for reporting, preparation of quotations, customer supply agreements etc
Based in or able to relocate to the Manchester area
