We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Health & Safety Professional to join a long established and highly successful distributor of leading brand lubricants and chemicals for the automotive market in the UK and Europe. Based within a commutable distance of Southampton you will have previous H&S experience from either a chemicals or transport environment and will report directly into the Head of Operations.
This is a newly created position due to business growth which can offer an excellent career path in the Health and Safety arena. Ideally suited to a self-motivated H&S professional able to communicate and influence at all levels looking for the next new challenge.
Ensure full compliance with current regulations, company policies, registrations and memberships.
You will be the first point of contact for Health and Safety Compliance and legislation issues/enquiries.
Support the commercial teams with supplier questionnaires and tender documents.
Undertake regular site safety audits/inspections and produce quality written reports for the senior management team including risk assessment method statements.
Conduct accident, incident and near-miss investigations and produce the relevant reports
Deliver training and presentations for Health and Safety matters and accident prevention training to office based staff and off site drivers.
Ensure the ongoing security of all company documentation relating to health, safety, environmental and quality.
Provide suggestions for continual improvement throughout the business.
KEY SKILLS / ATTRIBUTES
Minimum 3-5 years H&S experience in the chemicals, fuels, or transport sectors
Relevant Health and Safety Qualifications - NEBOSH and IOSH (TechIOSH) qualifications or above
Strong communication and influencing skills at all levels
A proactive approach to maintaining best in class H&S standards and compliance
Based within a commutable distance to Southampton
