We are looking for an ambitious, self-motivated and tenacious Junior Product Sales Manager (chemicals) to build and develop our client’s Solvent Sales into European and worldwide markets in order to secure the best return for the business. The successful candidate will need to be confident enough to work remotely and independently with the support of an experienced and knowledgeable sales and technical team.
Reporting into the Sales Director for chemicals division, this role is home-based but may require some time at the client’s chemical processing sites / offices to engage with colleagues and for training and development. The role will involve an amount of UK and overseas travel to visit clients. The Product Sales Manager will develop existing market potential and look for key growth opportunities in further downstream sales.
Key attributes required:
A chemical/scientific background.
Relevant sales experience in the chemical or pharmaceutical sector.
Proven account management and / or business development skills with an appetite to drive new business.
Advanced IT skills esp. MSOffice, will need strong Excel Skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills (experience of presenting would be a benefit).
An organised and methodical approach.
Creativity and the ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
A valid UK driving license
You will be expected to:
Develop and grow the current customer base as well as supporting sales from other operations with the chemical portfolio.
Maintain and build contacts within the industry and use important reference data to secure the best market price.
Prepare accurate sales monthly reports.
