This well known integrated oil company with a global presence is looking to hire a LNG Trading Desk Analyst. The LNG Trading Desk Analyst position is a permanent role based in London to support the LNG trading department.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS:
Adhere to all relevant compliance and trading procedures and rules.
In addition, the job holder will provide support to the analytics Team and the LNG trading Team in the key areas described below (in order of importance):
Model Development and Data Automation;
Scraps LNG supply and demand data from various sources in an automated way.
Ensures that data are available in a database.
Develops and implements supply and demand stack models to forecast LNG flows and price/spread.
Market intelligence Support;
Develop extensive network with external market players
Acquire information from industry network.
Trading Strategy Support;
Contributes in discussions of trading ideas of other traders.
Develops models to back test trading strategies.
Develops models to score and select trading idea and strategies based on agreed parameters.
Drive IT enhancements required to trade new products by being the interface between Front Office and departments such as IT or Middle Office.
Builds systems or system add-ons that are required to broaden the desk's product capabilities.
Gives input on best-practice risk measurement and pricing techniques.
This position reports to the LNG Analytics Manager and is expected to develop and maintain close ties with the following external and internal interfaces:
Trading desk analysts
Other, longer term oriented Analytics teams
Peers at other energy trading companies
4+ years of work experience in a trading house, utility, analytics provider, consultancy.
Experience in energy commodities trading (ideally LNG).
Ability to build models to: scrape data from various sources and warehouse them, analyse price formation, manage trading positions.
Understanding of the fundamental drivers of global LNG market as well as local power, gas and carbon markets.
Computer programming skills (good knowledge of at least one programming language).
Ability to clearly and concisely communicate.
Ability to work under pressure, time constraints and to establish priorities.
Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
Strong team working skills and ability to nurture effective relationships internally and externally.
London; International business travel maybe required.
£65000.00 - £80000.00 per annum
