​We are recruiting for a talent to strengthen our client's curve power prop team, who's got the capacity and ambition to become the next generation of top performers.

Experience in and good understanding of the CWE markets is required. In the beginning, you will be focused on Day-ahead and BOW, but you will gradually be given a risk mandate to trade further out on the curve, when you have proven your ability to generate consistent PnL on the short end of the curve.

This role will be based in Aalborg (Denmark).

Job responsibilities will include:

  • Participate in the trading activities for the successful Continental Prop Team, ensuring delivery of PNL targets, within the scope of power trading

  • Making daily trading decision on Day-ahead and BOW

  • Supporting the other curve traders

  • Manage risks through position management, hedging and execution of trading instruments

  • Support the decision-making around initiation of innovative, new growth business lines or products within the scope of trading areas.

  • Accurate and timely trade reporting, transaction initiation, and position management

  • Developing concepts, seizing the opportunity, understanding the risks/rewards, designing delivery, analyzing financials/economics and creating and executing on full launch trading ideas

  • Help analyze, select, enter and develop new markets of trading

  • Responsible for own book and own PnL

To be successful in this role you will have the following:

  • Experience in the European Power trading markets

  • Knowledge and understanding of the European Energy Complex

  • Highly numerate with significant experience dealing with numerical complexity

  • Ideally possess coding experience within Python or R

  • Self-motivated and self-managed with experience running and implementing complex and data intensive projects

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to translate quantitative problems to business language and communicate to a wide range of stakeholders

  • Well balanced commercial aptitude and quantitative/technical know-how, creativity and problem-solving abilities, as well as the ability to influence teams to drive results

  • Ability and desire to expand business into new Markets

  • Ability to take calculated trading decisions and stick to risk-management guidelines

  • Possess a positive attitude, strong potential and evidence of continuous improvement and learning.
