Overview
To originate and close physical commodity transactions (gas), financial derivatives transactions (gas, LNG, oil, weather) and natural gas storage transactions across the geographies where our client has a trading presence with the objective to generate a pre-agreed PnL target.

Our client is a Global Energy Supply and Trading Business. The company trades energy commodities including Gas, Power, Oil, LPG, Helium, Emissions, LNG and FX and also operates a retail business.

Role Objectives
To originate and close physical commodity transactions (gas), financial derivatives transactions (gas, LNG, oil, weather) and natural gas storage transactions across the geographies where our client has a trading presence with the objective to generate a pre-agreed PnL target.
To work in partnership with both Storage and Derivatives Trading, Structured Trading teams and Treasury teams to support the development of the derivatives and storage activities.
Supporting the optimisation and the expansion of our client's physical gas portfolio

Duties & Responsibilities
Delivery of challenging financial targets and associated performance measures
Establish new and maintain existing relationships with our client's customers and counterparties
Working with the structured trading, trading and funding desks to generate transaction and optimisation ideas across the remit of the role (derivatives, storage, funding)
Working with Structuring & Pricing teams to understand and independently verify and check pricing and economics of each transaction before conclusion
Provide clear and effective commercial expertise to contract drafting and review (EFET and ISDA)
Responsible for over-seeing the effective booking and integration of transactions within the organisation
Ensure that any transaction considered is in compliance with all internal mandates and policy of our client (regulations, risk, compliance, legal etc)

Experience
Energy commodity sales or trading or origination experience is essential, particularly exposure to European natural gas markets.
European Gas Storage experience is advantageous
LNG physical or derivatives experience is advantageous (NOTE: The role doesn't include physical LNG cargo transactions)
Experience in commodity linked financing/funding is advantageous
Demonstrable history in spearheading new initiatives, markets or products is strongly advantageous.
Solid understanding of the European energy industry, market and trading activity specifics is essential
Good understanding of risk management techniques from a front office perspective is advantageous
Knowledge of trading tools such Bloomberg, Trayport, ICE etc. is desirable

Education
Degree level education in a numerate subject preferred (or equivalent experience
