We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Procurement Specialist with at least 5 years experience in international supply chain (for manufacturing environments) to join a leading Global Oil and Lubricant Development Company as Regional Procurement Manager. Based in Italy you will be responsible for a small team and report in to the Global Head of Direct Procurement. Your primary objective will be to establish and execute a regional sourcing strategy for direct materials categories which maximises the competitive edge.
Working closely with both internal and external stakeholders you will play a key role in helping establish alignment between Regional and Global Procurement in terms of processes and procedures, whilst looking to find a balance between local and global suppliers to ensure the most competitve supply agreements.
Procurement of all raw materials (base oils, chemical additives etc) for European operations in agreement with the Group Supply Chain guidelines
Establish the regional sourcing strategy for procurement of direct materials
Research potential cost savings and improvements for both existing and new raw material sources
Implement and monitor any savings and optimisations found
Forecasting and Planning for direct materials procurement for European operations
Maintain a solid understanding of supply and demand dynamics for effective management of the budget
Contracts and Supplier Relationship Management
Ensure full compliance of all sourcing activities
KEY SKILLS / ATTRIBUTES:
Relevant degree qualification (Business or other related disciplines)
A minimum of 5 years experience in an international supply chain/procurement environment in the lubricants or oil manufacturing sector
A good knowledge of the European base oils and additives market
An understanding of manufacturing processes and raw material quality management
Demonstrable leadership, analytical, problem solving, and team working skills are key
Fluent in English, Italian language skills would be beneficial
Ability to build solid relationships with internal stakeholders
Excellent communication skills at all levels
Strong commercial acumen
