We are looking for a technologically-minded Settlements Analyst to join the London office of a leading energy group. Experience of energy operations is a must and experience within commodity trade support would be advantageous
You will be working as part of a small team responsible for trade support and trade confirmation. The Settlements Analyst must ensure both the correct capture of transactions in the ETRM system and ensure all confirmable deals are confirmed within market acceptable deadlines, in line with business transaction procedures, covering a variety of products. In addition, further projects to improve and build upon the existing systems will be available to participate in.
Reporting to the Trading Optimisation Controller, the key responsibilities and duties will include:-
Ensuring that all confirmations are generated where necessary and dispatched in a timely basis and that all confirmations received are checked and confirmed on the same day.
Being responsible for all outstanding confirmations and that they are chased on a regular basis and in a timely and efficient manner
Ensuring that all in-bound broker and counterparty confirmations are checked and agreed on the day of receipt
Responsible for notifying power positions to Elexon and checking seven day report. Where mismatches occur, investigate with counterparties and traders to rectify
Ensuring that all trades in the system are aligned with the internal risk framework
Providing regulatory reporting and supporting the month end reporting and invoicing processes
Inputting into the electronic confirmation project
Analysing & developing team procedures in line with market requirements
The ideal candidate
Experience working within energy operations such as trade support, clearing or settlements
Experience within commodity trade support specifically would be advantageous
Technologically minded and interest in inputting to process enhancements and improving efficiency advantageous
Knowledge of any electronic trade confirmation platform (ICE, EFETnet eCM, EPEX and ECC) would be advantageous
Understanding and working knowledge of trading systems, preferably FIS Aligne
High level of analytical skills and attention to detail
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and alone
Ability to cope with pressurised situations and adhering to deadlines
Effective communication, organisation and time management skills
Qualified to HNC / Degree level, or equivalent, and / or hold an appropriate recognised professional qualification.
