To successfully gather intelligence on existing and new smart meter propositions to take to market, develop and present businesses cases for new propositions in line with the company strategy and own the development and delivery of propositions quickly.
To achieve the target annual gross/net margin, volume and site numbers across the business through the successful release of new propositions to market.
Understand the strategic direction the company, its target market(s) and its financial ambitions and how smart meter propositions are expected to contribute towards meeting these.
Carry out market and competitor analysis and ensure that the smart meter propositions roadmap anticipates and responds to trends to ensure that Opus is at the forefront of smart product innovation.
Coordinate development of new standard and bespoke (tactical) smart meter propositions in response to customer needs and in line with the company's strategy.
Act as a smart meter proposition evangelist to build awareness and understanding across the business.
Ensure internal teams and partners have knowledge of the specifics & key aspects of all propositions.
Represent the company by visiting customers to solicit feedback on new and existing smart meter propositions.
Hold regular one-to-one interviews and collaborative workshops with stakeholders and subject matter experts to develop a solid understanding of Opus' product and service capabilities, market opportunities, and to encourage new smart meter proposition ideas.
Develop and implement test and learns for new smart meter propositions working closely with teams across the business. Based on results of the key test and learns consider the long-term proposition/opportunities, develop a go to market plan action and then implement these.
Draft and present proposals and business cases for approval to relevant stakeholders for new smart meter propositions that are in line with the company's strategy.
Once approval has been gained, work with relevant teams to get smart meter propositions delivered quickly and within budget.
Share key learnings, smart meter proposition visions and delivery plans with senior stakeholders.
Ensure that smart meter propositions go through the relevant compliance/risk sign offs before launch.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience required:
An understanding of B2B/B2C energy supplier propositions or mobile pay as you go propositions
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability of hold workshops and interviews with internal and external customers
Commercial minded with B2B sales or commercial experience
An ability to interpret data and gain the insight to provide the basis of strategy development
Ability to communicate with senior executives of the company, lead meetings and present to board level executives
Travel to customer, third party intermediary and other Retail offices
Measures of Success:
Identification of a target number of new proposition ideas to be screened, proposed and approved within each calendar period
Successful development and release of new propositions to market within expected timescales and budget
Achieving relevant sales target through successful propositions to ensure maintained business growth
Ability to communicate with senior executives of the company, lead meetings and present to a senior level
Demonstrate commercial and strategic acumen
