Are you an ambitious and highly experienced Technical Manager who has worked within the lubricants sector and looking for your next exciting career opportunity?

You will be someone who is equally as comfortable with providing technical and commercial support, taking responsibility for all technical matters including R&D, client and internal stakeholder support and driving new product development.

The role is working for a global lubricants manufacturer based in the North West. You will act as key member of the management team and be instrumental in helping the company achieve their ambitious growth plans.

About the role:

Your responsibilities would include:

  • Management of the laboratory staff, including technicians and R&D chemist

  • Effective quality control management in line with standards and regulations

  • Approval of raw materials and management of approved supplier list

  • Overseeing and supporting product development work including testing and QA – Final product release approval

  • Becoming an expert on the company’s manufacturing and formulation process and products to be able to provide technical support internally and externally

  • Providing technical data relating to new product development and ensuring maximum commercial impact by supporting marketing and sales initiatives

  • Represent the company through seminars, initiatives and industry networking events

  • Compliance with REACH legislation and ensuring compliance standards are met

About the ideal candidate:

You will be someone who:

  • Has a degree in chemistry or related subject

  • Can evidence extensive experience within the lubricants sector: ideally you have worked in an R&D or laboratory position in the past and have a solid understanding of formulation, testing and quality of lubricants and / or greases

  • Has commercial experience in a technical sales or service role

  • Can demonstrate strong interpersonal and people management skills, able to develop and support teams and colleagues

  • Is comfortable with some level of international travel when required

  • Is self-motivated, professional and looking for a role where you can achieve longevity and career progression within

The role offers competitive salary and benefits depending on experience.

This role is based in the North West of England and requires the successful candidate to spend most of their time at the manufacturing site. Therefore you must be within commutable distance or able to relocate for the role*.
