Transport Planner

Our client, a fuels distribution company, is looking to grow their transport team with the appointment of a new Transport Planner. This role offers excellent career progression in the future and an excellent training programme.

You will be someone who is organised, flexible, a good team player with excellent communication skills and have a passion for customer service.

You are a strong candidate for this role if you:

  • Have previous work experience in transportation routing, scheduling or logistics

  • Have strong IT skills, in particular Microsoft Excel

  • Understand or have knowledge of EU driver’s hours and regulations

  • Are someone who has excellent communication and customer service skills

  • Can work as part as a team or independently

  • Use initiative to recommend process improvements

  • Work well under pressure in a time critical or pressured environment

If successful, your role would require you to:

  • Perform daily routing of tankers at designated depots, using industry specific routing software, maximizing transport efficiencies whilst remaining customer focused

  • Perform daily routing of artics to all depots to manage depot stock levels

  • Have daily communication with delivery drivers to ensure delivery schedules are met whilst remaining compliant

  • Contact customers to advise of delivery dates/times

  • Liaise with sales team on delivery queries

  • Deal with all driver queries regarding deliveries and being their first point of contact

  • Liaise with the Fleet Manager on vehicle maintenance and industry compliance

  • Provide daily updates to the team on vehicles, drivers, areas etc.

You will be based out of their North Lincolnshire office, working a 40-hour week. The company will look to offer a basic salary of between £25 and £30K for the right candidate as well as excellent career progression in the future and excellent training programme.
