Job Title: Contracts Manager (EMR/Non-procurement)
Location: Northern England
Salary: Negotiable

Purpose:
Our client, a global low carbon and renewable energy supplier, is looking for someone who will work with stakeholders within the business to ensure effective management of renewable and other subsidies under numerous schemes of support.

Key Accountabilities:
Manage internal processes in relation to the CfD contract (risk: ~£400m pa), RO arrangements (risk: ~£400m pa) and Capacity Market auctions (risk: ~£100m pa) and interaction with ancillary services agreements
Assist with monthly fuel measurement and sampling data
Develops options to optimise revenues and support other projects relating to plant
Advises on ancillary services bid processes and supports bid development/negotiation
Manages relationships with external delivery bodies (LCCC, Ofgem, EMR Delivery Body, EMR Settlements Limited, etc.) to ensure reconciliation and payment processes run smoothly; lobby on policy changes
Supports sustainability team to ensure fuel procurement meets contractual and legislative requirements, and to lobby for changes
Evaluates potential impact of changes to contracts and wider legal frameworks; evaluates interdependence of these subsidy schemes and other electricity market regulations
Assist with the formulation of company positions and develops consultation responses in relation to contractual impacts; manage annual CM rule and regs change processes
Manages annual Capacity Market prequalification and auction participation processes for portfolio of new and existing and new build assets; assist with development of auction bidding strategy
Work closely with wider Commercial teams to add value across portfolio; Work with project teams on the development of new projects

Knowledge, Skills and Experience required:
Strong financial analytics skills
Ability to provide commercial solutions to issues and identify opportunities to maximise revenue streams
Some understanding of EMR policy, legislation and contract, including technical detail of ROO, CfD, Capacity Market, Grid connection, wholesale electricity market regulation or biomass sustainability requirements not essential but desirable
Strong understanding of the commercial objectives of the business
Experience of commercial, regulation or trading environment preferable

Measures of Success:
Value add to other revenue streams, where possible
Impacts of potential contractual changes identified and escalated in a timely manner
Efficient annual prequalification for the Capacity Market for existing and New Build assets
Smooth reconciliation and payment flows in relation to the CfD contract, Capacity Market contracts and RO arrangements
Provides clear and concise briefing papers to senior management
