JOB TITLE: Global Key Account Manager / Business Development
LOCATION: UK/Europe (home based)
We have a new and exciting opportunity for an experienced Technical Sales Manager or Key Account Manager to join a leading Global supplier of speciality chemicals for the lubricant and fuel formulation industries. You will play a key role in managing major key accounts whilst identifying and developing through these accounts new business growth opportunities. With a strong technical background in chemistry or chemical engineering, you will have a proven track record of managing at least one multi million pound account and have a good understanding of the Lubricants and Fuels Market.
This is a home based role focusing on the European market where many of the global accounts are head quartered. Ideally you will be located within easy access to an airport with good links.
A strong knowledge of the chemical / lubricant industry and a willingness and flexibility to travel internationally are essential.
Reporting into the Regional Sales Manager EMEIA (Lubricants and Fuels) you will have excellent relationship building skills, enjoy working autonomously, and have something of a Hunter instinct when it comes to identifying new business opportunities. You will be a self motivated individual with a technical mindset and someone who enjoys variety in their work.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
Achieve annual sales results and define opportunities for business growth through your assigned accounts
Establish and build senior-level relationships with key decision makers and buyers
Understand and assess customers' needs, business objectives, strategies and build customer value propositions representing a portfolio of products
Identify and manage new business development opportunities
Contract negotiation and pricing agreements
Work closely with R&D and other commercial groups to identify and meet the needs of international customers
Be the main point of contact for all customer communications, establishing yourself as a credible and trusted discussion partner
Sales forecasting, reporting, and market analysis
Delivery of the Strategy for the Lubricants & Fuels Business in EMEIA
KEY SKILLS / ATTRIBUTES
Relevant Technical Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Science etc
Minimum 5+ years technical sales, account management and business development experience in the Lubricant & Fuels sector
Technical understanding of lubricant and petroleum additives
Experience of working closely with R&D and cross business commercial teams
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills at all levels
Strong negotiation skills
Any experience in marine / automotive lubricants applications is highly desirable
Strategic thinker, self motivated results driven personality with a 'Hunter' approach
Good English language skills (an additional European language would be a plus but is not essential)
