An exciting opportunity has arisen to join an International Oil and Gas Trading Company. My client is looking for an intelligent, diligent candidate join their derivatives back office. The role is a valuable first step into both the oil & gas industry and the financial instruments sector, and would suit a candidate who is numerate and has an aptitude for learning the complexities of trading and derivatives.
Key responsibilities include, inter alia:
Back office processing of all financially settled transactions: Confirmations (ISDA or long-form), invoicing, outgoing payments, incoming payments.
Daily check of all financially settled transactions for their accuracy, completeness and consistency with the data in the ETRM system; communication to relevant departments to ensure any necessary corrections are carried out.
Daily independent reconciliation of broker statements and trading system entries.
Manage the counterparty approval process, ensuring that all prospective trading counterparties meet minimum standards and that they are correctly set up in the ETRM system
Supporting the wider Finance team on ad hoc tasks
In addition to experience in the derivatives field, the role offers wide exposure to the day-to-day workings of an oil trading firm, due to the relative size of the Supply and Trading, and the open, friendly nature of the company.

Must be comfortable with Excel.

Strong communication skills
Though not a pre-requisite, my client would be interested in candidates who can display any of the below:
Financial services knowledge
An understanding of the management of Derivatives clearing and settlement procedures
Experience of working in a Derivatives back or middle office environment
A good understanding of the oil & gas value chain
