This award winning specialist blender of advanced lubricant solutions is looking for an experienced Product Manager with a marketing mindset ideally with knowledge of the lubricants sector and specifically commercial vehicle and/or agriculture sector to join the team based in West Yorkshire. Reporting into the Managing Director your focus will be to ensure the strategic deployment and co-ordination of the company’s product pricing analysis in addition to marketing activities within this specialist division. Understand technical products and their associate channels to market, the role will focus on building and creating opportunities to promote the company’s premium position in a competitive marketplace.  

The successful applicant will have proven technical product awareness ideally complemented by commercial skills specifically marketing skills from a relevant sector (manufacturing, lubricants, automotive, distributor). Product application awareness and a technical mindset is essential for translating technical data into marketing initiatives. You will have a solid understanding of production processes from creation through to sales and providing the supporting information for the customer. Understanding the route to part of a technical product is key.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee the product development process within the Commercial Vehicle and Agriculture sector
  • Manage product route to market lifecycle, implementing analysis from conception to end user
  • Liaise with technical teams to drive forward product movement to end user both B2B and B2C
  • Closely monitor pricing analysis
  • Implement marketing strategy to support route to market actions
  • Knowledge of marketing initiatives in conjunction with Business Manager
  • Aligning specific ATL Above the Line activity with strategic values of the organisation
  • Ensuring compliance of all internal and external marketing material including all print and packaging materials
  • Promoting brand consistency
  • Implement PR activity to maximise coverage
  • Managing budgets and planning active forecasting
  • Extend marketing reach to include International coverage
  • Social Media responsibility including objective setting and evaluation of effectiveness
  • Collaborative working  

 

KEY SKILLS / ATTRIBUTES:

  • Broad marketing experience from a B2B manufacturing environment ideally lubricants or engineering
  • Marketing qualification
  • Technical understanding of products and production processes
  • Knowledge of technical bases B2B sales & marketing is essential
  • Ability to translate technical data into marketing literature
  • Thorough understanding of marketing planning, strategy and delivery
  • An understanding of product applications in the commercial vehicle or agriculture sector
  • Some product development knowledge would be a distinct advantage
  • An understanding of the principles behind pricing, RTM strategy, and internal processes
  • Demonstrable research and communication skills
  • Good understanding of sales team requirements
  • Broad understanding of all marketing methods
  • Computer literate with a good attention to detail
  • Good cross business relationship building skills and a flexible approach to attending exhibitions etc
